Dental implants are a type of artificial tooth roots that effectively replace missing teeth. By providing a stable foundation, implants can securely support permanent or removable replacement teeth that blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. With dental implants, you can regain natural-looking teeth that function and feel like your own. Implants are versatile devices that can attach replacement teeth securely to your bone, whether it’s a single crown or a fixed bridge, as well as fixed or removable partial or complete dentures.
Dental implants offer a fantastic solution to restore your smile and boost your self-confidence. With implants, you can bid farewell to the discomfort and embarrassment of dentures, along with the need for messy adhesives to keep them in place.
Implants are a highly durable dental solution that can last for many years. With proper care, some implants can even last a lifetime, giving you long-lasting peace of mind.
It’s very common for teeth and jaws to be misaligned, which can cause a variety of dental issues. Orthodontics is a specialized area of dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of crooked teeth, misaligned bite patterns, and jaw problems.
Crooked teeth can be more difficult to clean, leading to tooth decay and gum disease. Misaligned teeth can also make it harder to chew, causing headaches, shoulder or back pain, and even temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
Orthodontic treatments use a range of devices to gently guide the teeth and jaws into the correct position. Braces are one of the most common types of orthodontic treatment. They use bands, brackets, and wires to apply gentle pressure to the teeth and move them gradually over time. Braces are adjusted monthly and worn for several months or even years.
Splints are another type of device used in orthodontic treatment. They are used to reposition the jaw and treat TMJ disorders. They can be worn on the upper or lower jaw.
Headgear is a type of device that prevents the upper jaw from growing too quickly and helps to keep the back teeth in place while the front teeth are moved back.
Orthodontic treatment is also available for children. If a child’s teeth fall out early, a space maintainer can be used to keep the space open until a permanent tooth emerges. Fixed appliances may also be used to control thumb sucking or tongue thrusting.
In summary, orthodontics is an essential area of dentistry that can help correct a wide range of dental issues, from crooked teeth to misaligned bite patterns and jaw problems. With the use of various devices and treatments, orthodontics can help patients of all ages achieve a healthy, beautiful smile.
Children’s Dentistry focuses on the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. It includes specialized care to ensure healthy teeth and gums, preventive treatments, and guidance on proper dental hygiene habits. Pediatric dentists are trained to handle the unique dental needs of children, making visits comfortable and stress-free while addressing issues like cavities, tooth development, and early orthodontic care. The goal is to promote lifelong healthy smiles.
